About the Authors
Dr Chloë-Maryse Baxter BSc(Hons) MB ChB MHPE(Maastricht) Chloë-Maryse Baxter graduated from Manchester Medical School in 2001, MB ChB with European Studies, having also obtained an intercalated BSc in Health Care Ethics and Law. She was a pre-registration house officer in Edinburgh before heading to Sydney, Australia, to continue her clinical training in paediatrics. During this time, she studied for the Masters degree in Health Professions Education at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and completed this in 2003.
Mr Mark Brennan BA(Hons) MA AKC DHMSA ILTM FRIPH Mark Brennan is head of the Division of Clinical Education in the Kent Institute of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Kent at Canterbury. He is also Honorary Associate Dental Dean in the Postgraduate Deanery for Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and a visiting senior lecturer at Cardiff University's School of Dentistry. He qualified in medical ethics and law at King's College London. He was a member of the General Dental Council working group which produced guidelines for the education and training of dental care professionals in the UK. Mark was a DentEd peer visitor to dental schools in Kaunas, Umea, and Sarajevo, and, as an active member of the Association for Dental Education in Europe since 1998, was awarded the ADEE Certificate of Recognition of Excellence in Dental Education in Athens in 2005.
Dr Yvette Coldicott BSc(Hons) MB ChB Yvette Coldicott graduated from Bristol University in 2002, where she also obtained an intercalated BSc in Bioethics. She was a pre-registration house officer at Bristol Royal Infirmary and is now a senior house officer in Medicine. She plans to continue her medical career in anaesthetics.
Dr Maaike Möller BSc(Hons) MB ChB Maaike Möller graduated from Bristol University in 2004 and was a pre-registration house officer in Cheltenham at the time of writing. She did an intercalated BSc in Bioethics and has retained an interest in the subject ever since. Her other particular interest is international medicine and she intends to work in the developing world in the future. She is currently a senior house officer in Homerton Hospital, London.
