Logging In & Password

How do I log in?

Click LOGIN in the top menu bar of the website, then enter your email address and password. The password field is case sensitive. Once complete, click 'Start Studying' and you'll be taken straight into your subscription.

What do I do if I've forgotten my password?

Click LOGIN in the top menu bar of the website, then click the 'Forgotten password?' link, which will generate an automatic email. If you don’t receive a new password, please check your junk/spam folders.

I've not received a password reset email, what do I do?

Check that the email address you've entered is the one linked to your Pastest account. If you don't receive a reset password email, please check your junk/spam folders. It may also be the case that your account has been blocked due to too many failed login attempts. Contact us if you do not receive a reset password email.

Why am I getting a message saying 'Invalid Credentials' when I try to log in?

Your email and password must match exactly with the details you registered with us. The password field is case sensitive, and symbols such as @ may appear on different keys depending on the computer you are using. If you have copied and pasted the password, please double check it does not add an additional space at the beginning or end. If you would like to reset your password, please click the 'Forgotten password?' link in the menu bar.

How do I change my password to something more memorable?

Log in to your account and click on the menu button, followed by 'My Account'.

How do I change my email address?

Contact us using the email address currently linked to your account with details of the email address you'd like it to be changed to. If you are unable to access this email account, get in touch with our customer service team who will need to verify your identity by asking you some security questions before changing your email address.

Online Subscriptions

When do the subscription prices change?

For subscriptions which are based around exam dates, we usually change the prices and add new subscriptions around a week before the exam date. Please note that this may vary from time to time. You can contact us to ask when a specific subscription is likely to be added / change in price. 

Where do the online questions come from?

Our online questions are written by a team of exam-specific editors, all of whom have passed the exam they're writing for.

Questions are based on exam themes and publicly available past questions, as well as the exam curriculum / syllabus. All have been written specifically for Pastest. With very few exceptions (approximately 5% of MRCPCH FOP/TAS) the questions are written exclusively for Pastest online subscriptions and are different to the questions in Pastest books.

I've submitted feedback about a question, how long does it take to be answered?

We know how important it is to keep our content up-to-date and relevant, and we value your help in doing this. 

We have provided feedback buttons throughout our site so that you can let us know your opinion or submit a query about a question. We aim to respond to queries as soon as possible but we cannot guarantee a response time, especially if your query has had to be referred to an online editor.

We respond to queries directly related to our products and questions only; we do not provide a medical reference service. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for abusive/aggressive language.

How do I extend my subscription to the next exam sitting?

If you purchased your subscription in the last 14 days, contact us. We can cancel your current subscription and refund your payment so that you can then purchase a longer exam subscription. If your request is more than two weeks after your purchase, you will need to purchase a new subscription once your current one expires.

My exam date isn't the same as the one advertised, can I extend it?

The majority of our subscriptions are based around UK exam dates. We understand that a number of our subscribers use our products for variants of these exams such as Irish, Australian or Hong Kong exam dates. Within reason we can extend subscriptions to match these exam dates. If this applies to you, please contact us to discuss this further.

Resetting Your Subscription

How do I reset my performance / progress data?

It is possible to reset your performance and progress data in MyPastest. Click on the menu in the top right-hand corner and then 'MyPastest Settings'. Here, you'll find instructions on how to clear your subscription's performance history. Please be aware that this resets your entire subscription, you cannot choose certain parts to retain, or undo this action.

Why does my newly purchased subscription retain my previous progress data?

A lot of users wish to continue their revision from where they finished if they take out a subscription again. if you prefer to start afresh click on the menu in the top right-hand corner and then 'MyPastest Settings'. Here, you'll find instructions on how to clear your subscription's performance history. Please be aware that this resets your entire subscription, you cannot choose certain parts to retain or undo this action.

Can I reset part of my subscription?

No. A reset is all-or-nothing and is irreversible once done. If you wish to reset the entire subscription, simply click on the menu in the top right-hand corner and then 'MyPastest Settings'. Here, you'll find instructions on how to clear your subscription's performance history.

App

How do I download the Pastest App?

Visit this page to download the Pastest App. If you're a customer studying for the USMLE, visit this page to download the Pastest USMLE app.

How do I use the Pastest app?

The Pastest mobile app is available free-of-charge and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. 

Designed with your convenience in mind, you can download questions, videos and podcasts to the app for studying with or without an internet connection.

Please note that the app requires an active online subscription. It is not currently available for MRCP 2 PACES, MRCS B OSCE, MRCPCH Clinical or GPST Entry 3 subscriptions.

Different features of the app are available depending on your subscription.

Why does the app say 'Add Subscription' when I have an active subscription?

If you are studying for MRCP 2 PACES, MRCS Part B OSCE, GP Selection Centre (GPST Entry 3) or MRCPCH Clinical, the app does not currently support these subscriptions. You can revise using your mobile device by visiting https://mypastest.pastest.com in your mobile browser.

Payments

How do I place an order on the website?

Once you've found the items you wish to buy, click the 'Add to Basket' button to begin placing your order. When you have finished adding products to your basket, clicking on the 'checkout' link in your basket or at the top right of your screen.

You can go straight to checkout to pay for your goods. You will be required to register with us (please note that this does not include your payment card details) and to set up a password.

If you have already registered online with Pastest, simply enter your email address and password when prompted during the checkout process.

At the checkout, you can review and amend your order details. We accept payment by all major credit and debit cards, except internationally-issued debit cards and American Express. Pastest does not charge a transaction fee for processing credit or debit cards.

When you're ready to complete your order, click the 'place order now' button and wait for an online receipt. You will also be sent a confirmation email shortly after placing your order.

Can I pay via bank transfer?

In certain circumstances we may accept payment via bank transfer. If you are unable to pay via any other means please contact us stating which product(s) you wish to purchase. Please note that when paying by bank transfer an additional £10 fee is applicable to cover banking charges.

Please note we do not accept banker's drafts due to the charges we incur in processing the payment.

Why is my card payment not working or being declined?

Please check the accuracy of the information that you have entered and retry through the website. If a transaction is declined, please contact the financial institution that issued your card. Sometimes banks may put extra security measures in place, which may result in declined transactions - you may need to contact your bank directly to resolve the issue. You can contact us if you are still unable to pay.

Can I extend my subscription?

If you have only just taken out your subscription and would like to extend it, please contact us to discuss your options. Depending on the extension length and subscription, there may be additional charges applicable.

Is my payment secure?

Shopping at www.pastest.com is safe and secure.

We use internet standard encryption technology to protect your personal information including credit or debit card number, name and address. This process is known as SSL (secure sockets layer). To check that you are in a secure area of our site look at the bottom of your browser, or before the URL address to see a closed padlock or an unbroken key. You can tell whether a page is secure as 'https://' will display in front of www.pastest.com in your browser address window.

Please note that we do not store any card details after any transaction (successful or unsuccessful).

Why isn't my discount code working?

We run a variety of exam-specific discounts throughout the year. If your discount isn't working, the code may have expired, check the relevant page / communication from Pastest. If you found a code on a third-party voucher code website, it may be that the code is no longer valid. 

If you're certain that your code is still active: 

Discount codes are case sensitive. Ensure that you match any upper/lower case letters etc.

If you copied and pasted the code, check that you have not also copied a space at the beginning or end.

A lot of our discount codes are exclusive to the individual, ensure you are logged into your account first before trying to redeem your code.

How do I get a discount code?

We provide discount codes for a variety of reasons, including:

  • new product launches
  • completion of customer feedback surveys
  • attendance at exhibitions
  • seasonal sale periods.

Why am I receiving a 61,338 error message when attempting to make payment?

We are currently unable to process online payments for cards registered to certain banks, including Alahli Bank NCB in Saudi Arabia. If possible, make your payment with a different bank card or process a bank transfer. We are working with our payment providers to resolve this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Why haven't I received an order confirmation via email?

Start out by checking your email spam/junk folders. You can also check the email address that you've used to create the account. If there is an error in the email address, please contact us to fix it.

Book Orders

How long will my book take to be delivered?

All of our deliveries are traceable and must be signed for. To assist in your delivery please include a contact telephone number in your details.

UK

We deliver via a distributor to UK addresses using UPS Parcel Delivery Service. 95% of all mainland UK orders should arrive on the next working day.

Books ordered before 2pm, Monday to Thursday, will be delivered the next working day. Orders placed between 2pm on Thursday and 2pm on Friday will be delivered on the following Monday (bank holidays excepted, in which case delivery will be made on the Tuesday). Orders placed between 2pm on Friday and 2pm on Monday will be delivered on Tuesday. 

Europe

We use DPD to deliver Pastest titles within Europe, with a maximum transit time of 5 working days.

Rest of World

For destinations outside Europe, we use DHL International Courier Service to deliver Pastest titles. These packages have a maximum transit time of 10 working days.

Non-Pastest Titles

Deliveries of non-Pastest titles to all locations are fulfilled by third party carriers. We cannot guarantee next working day delivery for these titles.

How do I use my online subscriber book discount?

Current online customers get 25% off Pastest titles and free, next working day delivery to UK addresses. Add a book to your basket at the same time as purchasing an online subscription or booking on a course to get the discount. If you have an active subscription, log in and head to the books section of any exam area on the Pastest website to view the discounted titles available. Please note that this discount ONLY applies to Pastest titles, we do sell a range of 3rd party titles on the website and the discount does not apply to these titles.

Where is my package?

UK

Books sent to UK addresses are normally delivered on the next working day, as long as your order is placed before 2pm, Monday to Friday.

If you expected to receive a delivery, and have not been left a card by the courier, contact us and we will check the status of your delivery. If the courier has left a card, you will need to contact them directly to rearrange delivery.


Europe and Rest of World

Books sent overseas are normally delivered within 10 working days (or 5 working days if sent within Europe), and are fully traceable. If you have not been left a card by the courier, please contact us and we will check the status of your delivery. If the courier has left a card, you will need to contact them directly to rearrange delivery.

How do I get a refund on a book?

We want you to be completely satisfied with every purchase you make from Pastest. If you decide not to keep your books for any reason, you can return them to us within 14 days of delivery, provided the books are unused, in their original condition and accompanied by all original sales documentation.

To return your books please follow the instructions in the delivery documentation. We will refund the full purchase price of the product if the book(s) comply with the above description.

Please note we will only refund postage costs if the return is a result of our error (i.e. wrong, faulty or damaged product), but not when a product is simply unwanted.

If we find that the product has not been returned to us in fully resaleable condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund of the item, or to deduct up to 20% of the original selling price from the refund amount. 

We do not charge for returns. If you are returning products paid for on your credit or debit card, any refund will be made directly to your card and can take 3-5 days to reach your account.

Why have only some of my books arrived?

Please note that we do sell some 3rd party book titles on our website, these are sent through a different dispatcher/courier so will arrive separately. 

Troubleshooting

How do I report an error?

If you think your Pastest subscription is not behaving as expected, please let us know.

We collect error reports sent by users to detect any issues, note that we will aim to resolve your query as swiftly as possible. In order for us to resolve your query as fast as possible, please ensure that you tell us as much detail as you can; including device, browser (where applicable), operating system, and your Pastest username. Please describe the action that you were taking when the issue occurred and if possible, include a screenshot in your report. 

Why is the Pastest / MyPastest website not loading?

Have you checked if the issue is across different devices/internet connections?

Please try a different browser, device, location and connection to see if the fault is restricted to one of these. For instance, can you connect to Pastest over Wi-Fi, but not via your phone's mobile internet connection? 

Some customers experience difficulty accessing the Pastest website on hospital Wi-Fi / internet connections. If this is the case, you will need to request access from your hospital's IT administrators. 

If you are unable to resolve your connectivity issues we will try our best to assist you. Please contact us, and ensure that you tell us as much detail as you can; including device, browser (where applicable), operating system, and your Pastest username. Please describe the action that you were taking when the issue occurred and if possible, include a screenshot in your report. 

Why are podcasts / videos not playing?

In order to play some of the media in MyPastest, you will need Flash Player installed and enabled. See the guides below for assistance in setting this up. 

If you don't think that your issue is due to flash player: 

Have you checked if the issue is across different devices/internet connections? 

Please try a different browser, device, location and connection to see if the fault is restricted to one of these. For instance, can you connect to Pastest over Wi-Fi, but not via your phone's mobile internet connection?

I have Flash Player but it is not enabled, what do I do?

Some browsers set Flash to 'Disabled' by default. This can also happen when your browser updates. Check in your browser settings that Flash is 'Enabled'.

In Google Chrome for example, enter this into your browser: chrome://settings/content/flash

To check if you have the latest version of Flash in Google Chrome, enter this into your browser: chrome://components/

My device does not have Flash Player installed, what do I do?

Some of our media content requires Flash Player to play. You can download Flash Player for free from Adobe. 

What do I do if my device does not support Flash Player?

If you are using a device that does not support Flash (such as an Android phone or tablet) we recommend that you download the Dolphin Web Browser which supports Flash-based media.

Why is my sound not working?

Check that the issue is not with the device itself, make sure the speaker is turned on and that the volume is turned up. You can also try restarting your device and browser to see if that helps. Also try using Pastest with earphones plugged in. If this works it could indicate that your speakers are malfunctioning.

Several Apple devices have a Mute button on the side, please check this is not turned on.

I'm getting an error page, what do I do?

Oops!
Unfortunately, this can sometimes happen on a website as large as Pastest, though we try our best to make sure that it doesn't.

We may be doing scheduled maintenance on the site; if so we'll have contacted you via email to let you know so please check if that's the case. If not, please contact us with details of what happened, and we'll look into it asap. 

Why do I keep getting a 'Session Expired' message?

If you are repeatedly receiving a message that your session has expired, please check that no other device is logging into your account at the same time. Only one device is permitted to access your account at any one time. If you believe your account is being accessed by someone else, please log into your account and immediately change your password.

Cancellations & Refunds

Where is my refund?

Refunds usually take up to 5 working days to show on your card statement and the payment has to return to the card that made the original payment. Please contact your card provider if your refund is not showing beyond this date.

MRCP Part 1 Courses

Dress code

You’ll be sat down for most of the day, so wear something that is comfortable.

What to bring

Just bring yourself! You'll be given everything you need at the beginning of the course. However, you might want to bring a bag or rucksack to take your file home with you each night. The binders can be really big so are much more manageable if you have something to carry them in.

Accommodation

We don't arrange or organise accommodation for candidates as everyone has different needs. However, we have put together a list of local accommodation on the course pages. We don't endorse or recommend any of the establishments listed, and take no responsibility for any bookings made.

Can I transfer to another course?

If you are unable to attend the course you have booked, we will be happy to transfer your booking to another course (availability permitting). The following table highlights your options for transferring your course place, along with the charges that may be applicable:

  • We will only permit you to transfer your course date once.
  • In the event of a course transfer, the cancellation policy remains related to the original course date booked.

Can I cancel my course booking?

We want you to be completely satisfied with every purchase you make with Pastest. If for any reason you are unable to attend the course you have booked, we will be happy to transfer your booking to another course (availability permitting) or give you a refund subject to the cancellation periods and charges below.

All customers booking a place on the 5-day MRCP Part 1 course receive access to MRCP Part 1 subscription from the time of booking until the date of the next exam. In the event of a cancellation, an additional charge will be made if you want to continue using your Pastest online subscription.

Please note: 
  • No cancellations can be made once the course has started. 
  • If we cancel the course for any reason, we will offer you the choice of a transfer to alternative dates and/or location as available or give you a full refund. We will not cover any travel costs incurred. 
  • Whether you choose to transfer or cancel a course or we cancel a course, Pastest will not be liable for any cost incurred by you in arranging travel to and from the course or accommodation during the course. 

What do I get when I book a course?

You will receive an order confirmation via email. Any other relevant information will be available in MyPastest in the run up to the course. 

Pre-course material

All course attendees can access pre-course material through MyPastest. The answers to any pre-course questions will be available in the course add-ons section of MyPastest. PowerPoint presentations can be downloaded/accessed through MyPastest.

Course material

Material is given to you at registration on the first day of the course. We cannot send material out in advance of the courses.


Certificates of attendance

Your certificate of attendance will be given to you on the last day of the course. If you have already attended a course and need a duplicate certificate, please email enquiries@pastest.com

Can I reclaim VAT on my course fee?

As Pastest courses constitute services which are wholly delivered in the UK, overseas attendees are not able to reclaim VAT paid on their course fees.

Cameras & mobile phones

Please note that unauthorised filming or taking of photos on any Pastest courses is strictly forbidden. Anyone deemed to be breaching this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately, with no refund provided.

Visa applications

Many overseas doctors attend Pastest courses and experience no problems obtaining the relevant visa to attend. However, some candidates do experience difficulties, so we recommend that you make your visa application in plenty of time to avoid disappointment. 

Unfortunately we are unable to make special exceptions to the cancellation and transfer terms and conditions for candidates unable to attend at the last minute due to complications with their visa applications. 

As soon as you pay in full for your Pastest course place, you will receive a confirmation email which can be used to support your visa application. If required, we can also provide you with a formal letter of invitation, providing you have a confirmed place on the course. To request a letter of invitation please email enquiries@pastest.com.

MyPastest & Pastest online subscriptions

Your MyPastest account, Pastest online subscription and log in details are personal and non-transferable, and must be kept confidential and used only by you for the duration of your subscription or registration period. We reserve the right to terminate your subscription and/or take further action should we find you in breach of this clause.

Age Restriction
You must be aged 18 or over to subscribe to and/or purchase Pastest products.

My performance data
Pastest aims to retain performance data from expired subscriptions for a maximum of 90 days after the subscription has ended. Pastest retains the right to delete data from expired subscriptions as and when necessary, and makes no guarantees about the continued retention of data after a subscription has expired.

Intellectual property and rights of use
Pastest is the registered trademark of Pastest Limited. You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content supplied as part of the website shall remain at all times vested in us or our licensors.

You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us or our licensors. 

You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within the website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only. Any other use of the material and content of the website is strictly prohibited.

Purchase of products

Contract creation and electronic contracting 
The technical steps required to create the contract (order acceptance policy) between you and Pastest Limited are as follows:

  • You place the order for your products on the website by pressing the confirm order button at the end of the checkout process
  • Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy our product(s)
  • We will send to you an order acknowledgement email detailing the products you have ordered. This is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from Pastest Limited.
  • Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and Pastest Limited will take place on the despatch to you of the products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions in 'change or cancel your order'

Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • The identification of a pricing or product description error

All disputes arising from this contract shall be governed by English law and statutes.

Payment
All prices are inclusive of VAT (where applicable) at the current rates and are correct at the time of entering the information onto the system. 

The total cost of your order is the price of the products ordered plus delivery charges as set out in the delivery section of this website. Payment can be made by any of the methods specified in the payment section of this website and payment will be debited and cleared from your account as set out in the payment section of the website. 

You confirm that the credit or debit card being used is yours. 

All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

Prize draws

Zero tolerance policy

Any form of aggression towards staff working for Pastest is unacceptable, be it at a course or by telephone. We therefore operate a zero tolerance policy across the organisation as a whole. 

A zero tolerance policy acknowledges that aggressive, abusive and threatening behaviour does not go with the job and will not be tolerated. Violence against staff is a crime and individuals behaving violently or aggressively towards staff may be reported to the police or to the GMC. 

This zero tolerance policy covers foul and abusive language sent into the organization by email. We will not respond to any such communication, regardless of the underlying content, and the author will be warned that should their behaviour be repeated, we will terminate their subscription, and the user will not be entitled to any form of refund or compensation.
